Mental Health Happyish Hour

Grit uses stories as a bridge to engage in conversations about "stuff that matters." Started in the fall of 2020, our signature (virtual) open mic is for storytellers with a mental health-centered story. Bring your story, as well as some curiosity and compassion. Or just come to hear these brave tellers and their bold stories.

The 99-Second Story Slam

Co-hosted with the Queen Mary D., the slam began in the summer of 2020. This innovative (virtual) event provides the opportunity for storytellers to craft and tell 99-second stories in a competitive (yet friendly) space, culminating in a winner-take-all Grand Slam event. Now in Season 7, we have had participants from all corners and crevices of the world!

Sean has created really innovative  story events through which we have a growing community of tellers across borders, helping both new and experienced tellers continue to develop their voice.

It’s impressive how much Sean has accomplished with stories of his own and spotlighting others to bring awareness to the cultural climate during a time when other venues have shuttered.
